Chicken Salad Chick, the nation’s only southern inspired, fast casual chicken salad restaurant concept, announced today the launch of its limited-time “Rockin’ Rita” chicken salad, signature Key Lime Pie and Cranberry Apple Salad. The new spicy chicken salad flavor features Wickles Pickles Spicy Red Relish, a 90-year old family recipe that is known to pack a punch.
Wickles Pickles uses a secret 90-year old family recipe that includes a custom blend of spices and ingredients – these pickles are also gluten free, kosher, and do not contain high-fructose corn syrup in their unique brine. Wickles original slices are cut thick like a homemade pickle, they also have elements of dill and garlic with a little heat on the back end.
Wickles are billed as a “sandwich and snack chip” and we agree that you could eat these straight from the jar. If you like heat, that is. Whole chile peppers (and garlic) infuse the brine, making a powerfully spicy, not too sweet pickle.
There are usually a few different jars of pickles rattling around in a Southerner’s refrigerator, from sweet bread and butter chips to tangy okra spears. If you like your pickles with a little kick, Wickles Pickles are brined with hot peppers and other spices.
These bad boys pack serious heat, thanks to red chile peppers jarred in the mix. And while some competitors are pickled only in distilled vinegar, Wickles also uses apple cider vinegar for a slightly sweet layer of flavor that pairs well with spiciness.
