Wicked Pimento Cheese Hushpuppies

Wickles Wicked Pimento Cheese Hushpuppies are a little spicy, a little cheesy, a little salty and super crunchy!


  • For Base
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • For Pimento Cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • 4 oz drained, chopped pimento peppers
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • ½ cup Wickles Spicy Red Sandwich Spread
  • For Cooking
  • 2-3 cups oil


  1. Mix dry ingredients together, add buttermilk and egg, mix until smooth. (It may look dry, but mixing it well will smooth it out.)
  2. Mix all cheese ingredients together until combine
  3. Mix base & cheese together until well blended
  4. Bring 2-3 cups oil to a soft boil
  5. Roll 1 tbsp of mix in your hands to create a ball shape, add to oil carefully and cook 2-3 minutes until golden brown in oil 
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite dip – we like ranch or even more Wickles Spicy Red Sandwich Spread, dive in!
